LAD: Dutch Association of Salaried Doctors
While you take care of your patients, we take care of you
The Dutch Association of Salaried Doctors (LAD) is the largest and most influential employee organization for (future) employed doctors in The Netherlands. It plays a crucial role in advocating for the rights and interests of doctors employed in various medical institutions, including hospitals, public health services, and other healthcare organizations. The LAD has over 36,000 members. This makes us a partner that the healthcare sector cannot ignore.
LAD for whom?
The LAD is dedicated to support salaried doctors in The Netherlands, regardless of their specialty or field of expertise. This includes general practitioners, hospital specialists, medical researchers, and doctors working in public health or other medical settings. Whether you are a medical student or an experienced medical professional, we are here to help you navigate your career and ensure your professional rights are protected.
What does the LAD do for you?
As a member of the LAD, you benefit from many advantages:
- The LAD offers you 20 hours (for interns: 10 hours) of legal advice per year free of charge. For example, our lawyers can assist you in labour disputes and reintegration processes, or review employment contracts.
- You are collectively insured for additional professional liability and legal assistance in employment matters, complaints and disciplinary law, social security law, stalking and witness hearings. Free of charge.
- The LAD represents your interests at the negotiating table for several relevant healthcare collective labour agreements. There we make agreements about your salary, healthy schedules, tackling work pressure and other employment conditions.
- The LAD concludes between 60 and 80 social plans with employers each year. In this way, in the event of reorganisations or mergers, we prevent forced redundancies and make agreements on salary guarantees and mobility.
- We inform our members about the latest developments in the field of employment conditions, working conditions and the labour market, and involve them in this.
